College Football Playoff and Baptist Health Teaming Up for Miami-edition of the Trophy Trot 5K/10K taking place National Championship Weekend

MIAMI, FL – The 2026 Miami Host Committee, in partnership with Baptist Health, announced a 5K/10K race, a key event of College Football Playoff (CFP) National Championship weekend. The Baptist Health CFP Trophy Trot 5K/10K will take place on Sunday, January 18, 2026. Celebrating both the city and the sport of college football, the race will take runners through Miami’s famous South Beach.

As the CFP National Championship moves to different cities each year, the Trophy Trot follows, bringing together the local community and visiting fans to become active participants in the excitement. The 2026 College Football Playoff National Championship is set for Monday, January 19, at Hard Rock Stadium. The title game last visited the Miami area in 2021.

“We are thrilled to welcome Baptist Health as the title sponsor of the CFP Trophy Trot,” said Rich Clark, executive director of the College Football Playoff. “Their commitment to wellness and community perfectly aligns with our mission to create meaningful experiences around championship weekend. Together, we look forward to inspiring fans and families to celebrate fitness, fun, and the spirit of the game.”

The Baptist Health CFP Trophy Trot 5K/10K will start from Miami’s South Pointe Park. Participants in both the 5K and 10K races will receive a T-shirt and finisher’s medal, along with opportunities to win tickets to the national championship game. The top overall male and female finishers in each race will secure two tickets to the game, with an additional pair awarded through a random drawing.

Additionally, local Miami residents and healthcare workers can receive $10 off registration with the code CFP26CMB, and educators can receive $10 off registration with the code EYFTLOVE26. As part of the CFP Foundation’s mission to support PK-12 education through its Extra Yard for Teachers platform, the Trophy Trot honors the vital role of teachers and celebrates their contribution during the national championship festivities.

On race day, staff from Baptist Health will be providing medical coverage for all participants and supporters on-site to enjoy the CFP National Championship weekend festivities. Baptist Health also plans to activate with engaging activities and giveaways for race participants/spectators.

“At Baptist Health, we are committed to providing world-class care while championing health and wellness initiatives in our community,” said Joe Natoli, executive vice president and chief administrative officer at Baptist Health. “Partnering with the College Football Playoff on the Trophy Trot allows us to add to the excitement of the high-energy weekend while ensuring the safety of those celebrating the Miami-edition of the national championship game.”
