Three South Florida Middle Schools Unveil Transformed Innovation Spaces Ahead of 2026 College Football Playoff National Championship

MIAMI LAKES, Fla. (June 24, 2025) – The 2026 Miami Host Committee, in partnership with the College Football Playoff (CFP) Foundation’s Extra Yard for Teachers, is proud to unveil three fully renovated Innovation Spaces in South Florida middle schools. These dynamic, tech-forward media centers are designed to inspire creativity, collaboration, and curiosity among students and educators alike.

This year’s selected schools, Georgia Jones Middle in Miami-Dade County, along with Bair Middle and Apollo Middle in Broward County, now feature reimagined learning hubs complete with flexible furnishings and cutting-edge tools, including newly introduced virtual reality headsets that provide immersive educational experiences.

Ribbon-cutting ceremonies were held at all three campuses, bringing together educators, students, community leaders, and partners to celebrate the transformations. Florida Lottery Secretary John F. Davis joined the celebrations at Georgia Jones and Apollo Middle, highlighting the importance of their partnerships in advancing educational opportunities across Florida. The Florida Lottery, a proud supporter of education statewide, played a key role in helping make these Innovation Spaces possible.

By delivering modern technology and adaptable learning environments, these transformations energize campuses, promote critical thinking, and support a wide range of learning styles. Teachers are now equipped with engaging tools to deliver hands-on, future-ready instruction that keeps students motivated and inspired.

As the South Florida community prepares to host the 2026 College Football Playoff National Championship Game, the 2026 Miami Host Committee along with the Orange Bowl Committee is proud to collaborate with Extra Yard for Teachers on this impactful initiative. The long-term effect of these renovations is expected to be both profound and enduring for students, educators, and the broader school communities.
